Professional Development at Research for Better Teaching

Jodi Wirt

Jodi Wirt has worked as a teacher and administrator in Florida, Virginia and Illinois.  Most recently she served as Assistant Superintendent for Instruction, PreK-12 in Lake Zurich CUSD 95.  While in Lake Zurich, Jodi oversaw the development and implementation of curriculum and professional learning.  Her emphasis was on building a culture for instructional expertise. Lake Zurich implemented Studying Skillful Teaching to reinforce the induction program as well as lay the groundwork for strengthening PLC work.  Lake Zurich utilized the RBT courses Coaching High Impact Teacher Teams and Analyzing Teaching for Student Results to promote focused conversations on the instructional practices that are most likely to positively impact student achievement. Prior to Lake Zurich, Jodi served as the Associate Superintendent for Instruction in Naperville CUSD 203 for ten years and as an English teacher for 15 years.  Jodi has a B.A. in English from Virginia Tech and an M.Ed. in Educational Leadership from National Louis University.
