James Warnock

Jim has served in public education as a teacher, staff developer, high school principal, and assistant superintendent.  From 1996-2011 he directed the Sino-American Seminar on Educational Leadership for the University of Vermont’s Asian Studies Outreach Program and has traveled and worked extensively throughout China. He has also provided technical assistance to schools in Russia as part of a U.S. Department of State Community Connections program, conducted teacher training in Australia and school leadership training in Singapore. Jim’s particular areas of interest include instructional leadership, improving classroom instruction, teacher hiring and induction, and supervision and evaluation. He is a co-author of The Skillful Leader IITransforming Ineffective Teams: Maximizing Collaboration's Impact on Learning (2008). Jim completed his undergraduate and graduate work at Brown University and the University of Vermont.
